Now that Thanksgiving has passed & tomorrow marks the first day of December, I have to ask, are you ready for the Holidays?

Tonight we'll be picking out our Christmas tree [hooray!]. And I have some crafty Holiday ideas that I will hopefully be starting this week. Today I saw this sweet little advent calendar made out of paper scraps and match boxes .. I think I'll have to add it to the to-do list!

"Just hot glue the tops of empty boxes to one another so you get rows.
The bottom should be 9 and decrease by two until you have a single box.
Cut wrapping paper to cover each row, secure with hot glue.
Then hot glue the rows in a tree shape as shown.
I used small stamps to stamp the numbers on each box.
On top you can hot glue a star or a cut out like I did on this one.
Fill the boxes with candy and trinkets and you are ready to go."

I'll be having an itty bitty celebration with my Husband & his mom. I'll miss the rest of my BIG family   this year, but I'm excited  for some low-key, quality time with these very special people.

Although, if it were really up to me, we'd be having our Thanksgiving out in the woods. How gorgeous is this??

Float Away

A few months before we were married, we met up with the lovely Mary, from Mary Frances Photography & had a fun little shoot at Topanga Canyon State Park. Our beautiful day resulted in lots of amazing photos. This one was a favorite...

Soon after our shoot, Mary & her husband, Scott started Float Away Productions - cinematography for all of life's big events.  I am so excited to see more from their collaboration!  Until then, I can get my fix by watching some of Scott's dreamy videos he shoots for Forever 21 & Heritage 1981.

I love, love, love the vintage quality of his films & his music choices are always impeccable!

I love a good makeover.

When I first saw this kitchen makeover, I was totally smitten! Lauren was able to take a dingy, boring, basic kitchen and turn it into an open, stylish space that reminded me of a modern, eclectic farmhouse. [By now you all know of my love for farmhouses].
Best part of the story is, she did it on a serious budget! Being creative and painting her fridge with chalkboard paint and her dishwasher to match the cabinets saved Lauren BIG BUCKS on appliances & I think it looks even better than if she'd splurged for new ones!

As I scrolled through her blog, I saw that not only is her kitchen inspiring, but her entire house is just lovely.

On somewhat related news, I was so excited when Grace over at Design*Sponge blogged about our bathroom makeover! In case you haven't seen it over in the sidebar, check it out here. Thanks, Grace!
