A rehearsal dinner at a Vermont Swimming Hole!
Pretty incredible right? Gemma & Andy hosted this low-key, fun BBQ the night before their wedding at South Pond in Vermont. Gemma grew up swimming there, so she was thrilled that people swam!

Our rehearsal dinner was a great big bbq on my parents' deck and in their backyard. We had a fabulous time (but maybe not as great as if it'd been at that Vermont swimming hole! love the photos!)
They look so in love:) I really appreciate when people give you a taste of their own life...it makes it personal.
Ours was very similar...just close fam and friends and good food at our clubhouse:)

At first I thought there might be trouble luring me out of the water if I were there, but that food and those outdoor tables...I couldn't say no to those.
ohhh this is sooo pretty! we actually just had our rehearsal dinner at a chinese restaurant and there was peking duck so it was delicious! since we had a pretty westernized wedding we wanted to throw in a bit of traditional the night before! =)

I really like these photos and this idea. I had always thought of rehearsal dinners in the traditional way - restaurant, table, etc. This looks so much more fun and economically reasonable.

so relaxing! my plan right now would be to gather at a park have have a pot luck, play games, lay out, go swimming or boating. we have a lot of lakes in MN so I don't see this as a problem... besides the fact that we are getting hitched in October. but yes, something casual is definetly in the plans.
