Happy Thanksgiving...

..from Dandelion & Grey!

As a vegetarian, I guess I am more excited about the sweets & treats than dinner itself!  I am so excited to spend time with my nearest + dearest!

For US readers, what are your plans?

An Impromptu Barn Picnic

A few weeks back when we were invited to HammerSky to photograph Harvest, the property owners put my styling skills to work. They asked if I could set the table for a picnic for a small group of guests who were stopping by the vineyard.

I utilized the items the vineyard had on hand...a couple tablecloths, plates & flatware, floral arrangements and even some Fall pumpkins! Since it had just rained the night before, I set up in the venue's gorgeous barn....

I used the vineyard's charming patterned textiles and plates, but the real stars of the show were the gorgeous planked wood Restoration Hardware farm tables. They are so amazingly beautiful!

Lunch was catered by Farmstand 46.

I am in LOVE with this chalkboard from Terrain! Kim actually purchased it after seeing it on one of my shopping lists! Love that.

And then the guests arrived...

Thank you to Kim & Doug for trusting your guests with me. Throwing an impromptu barn picnic was just another amazing experience I had while visiting HammerSky last month!

It's been so long since I have done a lovely list! I actually have received a few emails lately requesting it's return! I love putting together these lists, I have just been so busy- but I am going to make an effort to bring them back.

How great are the photographs from the English Department's Fall Editorial? Swoon.

This gorgeous top from Anthro is perfect for transitioning from Day to Night.

Loving the stylish shoes on this cute couple.

I'm dying to make this delicious-looking Fall Apple Crisp!

Isn't this the most darling vintage hat?

I love the vintage feel to this gorgeously epic photograph.

Sweet mini glasses of Hot Cocoa!
This lovely Fall coat from Toast is on my wishlist!

Happy Weekend to you all!

Before & After: Iante's Bridal Shower

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on the Bridal Shower! I loved the idea of the Shower taking place in a nail salon because it was so fun for the guests. It posed a bit of a challenge creatively, but I worked through it and was able to create some lovely styled areas around the chairs where the ladies where getting pampered!

I didn't take too many before photos on my site scout, but you will get the idea. First up, the buffet table! I placed a folding table with a simple white tablecloth in the back of the salon and styled it with a floral arrangement from Palisades Village Florist, a chicken wire planter with moss holding the flatware & napkins, bamboo plates, and simple white serving dishes.

Next, my favorite...the dresser holding the notes to Ianthe and necklaces she gave as favors to the guests! I brought in a vintage dresser and topped it with a vintage frame for the postcard notes and a french market bucket holding branches for a few of the necklaces...more were hung from the dresser knobs.  To complete this look, whimsical tissue poms hung from damage free adhesive hooks.

And here is a before and after of the whole Salon...

You can see the Bridal Shower in it's entirety in the post below!

Ianthe's Bridal Shower

Hello, Loves! I hope you had the best weekend!

I couldn't wait to share photos of the Bridal Shower I was telling you about. Luckily, my amazing husband came along and snapped a few photos and the lovely, Leila of Leila Brewster Photography edited them for me last night.. Thank you both so much!

I found out about the shower 6 days before I styled it, which was a challenge, but I was totally up for it! I found out that Ianthe, the bride-to-be, loves birds, nests & woodsy decor so I paired that idea with rustic, feminine and whimsical details.

Since the shower took place inside a nail salon, I really wanted to bring in some cozy elements so guests felt right at home. So I went with my signature move and brought in a gorgeous vintage farm dresser!  {you may remember seeing this dresser here} Tissue paper Poms are a fun, festive way to liven up any space.

Ianthe had a lovely idea to pick different charms that had significance & meaning to her, that she wanted to share with her closest friends. They were hung from gorgeous silk ribbon and each guest got to pick their favorites and take them home.

Save-On-Crafts was my saviour in getting this shower done in a short time frame! I ordered the French market bucket, the birds nest branches, vintage-inspired postcards & moss from them. I'm sure you all know and love them, but in case you didn't, they are a fabulous wedding resource. I even ordered some of my own wedding decor from them.

I had guests write a note to Ianthe on the vintage bird print postcards and hang them on a framed "clothesline".

Guests munched on sandwiches, sweet potato fries and mac 'n cheese from The Village Pantry in the Pacific Palisades.

Congratulations to Ianthe & Greg!

And just for fun, tomorrow I will be sharing some "before" photos of the salon, so you can see that any space truly can be transformed with the right elements.
